For the last few years Sephora has teamed up with Pantone to create the color of the year. Which features one specific color and a coordinating color scheme that helps everyone to create gorgeous makeup looks with. This years big winner was Marsala! Now I personally don't own anything else besides this eyeshadow palette but, I can tell you for my fair skin the blush palette ran very orange on me when I tested it out in the store so I had to pass but, I would love to try the other items.
Below I have pictured the Sephora color of the year 2015 (marsala) palette with natural and flash lighting to show the colors that have glitter more. This is the first color of the year palette that shows the color of the year with four different formulas. Right off the bat that is something I LOVE about this palette!

Usually I go through each color individually but, I think to show how the colors work in each row together I will do it this way. Every color will be reviewed from left to right. All eyeshadows are swatched twice with Kat von D's High Voltage primer underneath.

Autumn Blonde - This is a Vanilla with a slight amount of gold glitter running throughout it. It was very smooth to the touch a little pwdery and swatched just okay. This is a color that needs a little love and product buildup in my opinion to get a massive amount of product to show. it didn't skip though it was still very smooth upon application.
Toasted Nut - This looks more copper in the photo but it leans to be more of a rose gold color. This was a super smooth and pigmented color. Honestly one swatch was good enough for this one but for the sake to show the colors as true as I possibly can I still gave it two swatches.
Marsala Matte - This is a Rusted red with slight brown undertones to it. This is definitely one of those trending 90's colors we have going on this year so you know my little grunge girl self is in love (lol). This color was very smooth and upon swatching was super pigmented as well. It isn't powdery at all and blends out very nicely and effortlessly.
Marsala Satin - This color is the same as Marsala matte except a little bit more red toned. that's mostly due to the fact that this color has slight red shimmers throughout it for that satin finish. Another really smooth and super pigmented eyeshadow. It's GORGEOUS!
Shifting Sand - This is a pearlescent white with a gold duo chrome. I really love this color it's different for sure and it's another smooth and highly pigmented color. One swatch was all it needed.
Cocoa Brown - This is a cool toned brown with a hint of grey to it. this was another Smooth and nicely pigmented color.

Burro - This is a very cool toned brown with grey undertones. It applied nicely pigmented and super smooth. I have to note Not one color in this palette is powdery they all come out super creamy and smooth.
Deep Taupe - I LOVE this color it's a gorgeous taupe I think it leans a little more grey but it's awesome. I think this would be pretty all over the lid as well as a transition color.
Marsala Metallic - This color is more of a deep red vs having the brown undertone like the Matte version. much more shimmer reflects added to this one obviously to create a metallic version of Marsala. It was very pigmented and smooth to the touch.
Marsala Glitter - Much brighter than Marsala metallic this color has gold and pink glitters running througout it. Super pigmented and although this is a glitter eyeshadow it was still very smooth to the touch.
Kelp - Light Is a light khaki green with a slight gold duo chrome to it. another soft and very pigmented color.
Dusty Olive - I would describe this one as a moss green. It was super smooth and very pigmented gorgeous color for sure!

Desert Mist - Is a metallic light gold. It is super smooth and very pigmented. I don't tend to wear gold much but I do love this one a lot.
Butter Rum - This is a Metallic Copper just like Desert Mist this eyeshadow is super pigmented and smooth.
Macaroon - I see this as a slightly neutral beige with the softest touch of brown to it. This would be a perfect transition shade or even a lid color. It's very pigmented and smooth.
Chutney - This is a super warm orangey red with brown undertones. It definitely has a lot going on. It's another pigmented and smooth eyeshadow.
Nimbus Cloude - This is a silvery white with white glitter throughout it. Not a chunky color what so ever. It was super smooth to the touch and nicely pigmented. This is definitely one of my favorites in the palette.
Moonlight Blue - Is a black based blue with some blue glitter throughout it. Another favorite of mine it is smooth to the touch but, it does need a little bit of application work to get that blue to pop more. But in the end it does have a nice color pay off.

Carob Brown - is a chocolate brown leans a tad bit more on the cool side compared to the rest in the row. It is a super smooth color and applied very pigmented.
Bracken - Is a deep brown with gold glitter. A super smooth color with awesome pigmentation. I love how this one blends out.
Russet - This color is more warmed tone than the other two in this row. It's a deeper chocolate brown compared to Carob brown. It Applied very smooth and pigmented.
Hot Chocolate - This is a Deep brown with a whole lot of red undertones to it. it's very smooth and nicely pigmented with one swatch.
Castor Grey - The name of this color throws me off because it's definitely a brown with green duo chrome no grey in it at all. It actually reminds me of the duo chromed brown/green in the Too faced holiday palette I believe the name is girly. nonetheless this is a super pigmented and smooth color.
Red Mahogany - Is a deep brown with slight red undertone and a hint of red shimmer throughout it. It applied very smooth and pigmented.
My Overall thoughts on this palette: I Love how this has a mix of both warm and cool toned colors that can work with the very warm color of the year Marsala. All of these colors apply smooth and pigmented. Although the palette is less than half the size of last years I think these colors are more workable and you're able to mix them up to create endless looks. If you haven't checked this palette out I would definitely say go to your nearest Sephora and play with it see if these colors are for you. I think it can work everyone whatever their style may be. And lastly out of all the Pantone universe color of the years we have had this one is for sure my all time favorite.
I give this palette a rating of : 10/10
