Melt cosmetics gave everyone a little tease a little over a month and a half ago over their new eyeshadow stacks that they were releasing. After anticipating over these eyeshadow stacks to be released I finally got my hands on them and I have to say I'm Not dissapointed. I was a little hesitant at first when it came to ordering these because I thought they were the typical mac size eyeshadows for $48.00 and honestly, I was not willing to pay that. But with further research the eyeshadows turned out to be much larger, and in my opinion more bang for your buck! Each stack contains 3.57g/0.125oz of product which breaks the eyeshadows price wise to $12.00 a piece. Considering Mac sells eyeshadows with much less product for $16.00 a piece this is a steal! Now with all that being said lets get into these beauties.

I'm going to start out with the Love sick stack. I feel like these eyeshadows are a lot of fun and I love that they can be paired as duos vs. mixing all four. I mean there are no rules to makeup but just by first glance I could see someone who isn't as experienced with makeup going into a panic over the color combos. Regardless these babies are stunning!

PROMISCUOUS- Is described as a color changing violet-blue. I agree I also see this color with a lot of Pink/slightly redish undertones. So it's a cool toned color due to the cool duo chrome added in but, it also has warmth if that makes sense? I love the look of this eyeshadow I'm dying to put this on a black base or layer it over some other colors to give more dimension. When swatching the eyeshadow felt very soft and applied nicely pigmented and smooth.

FIXATED - Is described as a matte grey. It is a matte grey but it is also very cool toned with blue undertones. Just as Melt says it's inspired by Space Cake, it has the same exact characteristics that the lipstick has which is a cool toned grey. I really love this color but here's my problem. As smooth as the eyeshadow felt it applied kind of patchy. I always give each color two swatches each to have the true color shine through but this one killed me especially because It's one of the reasons I got this stack. I'll definitely be posting an update on this blog post on how it applied on the eyes and blended because some eyeshadows can apply patchy in a swatch but work phenomenal on the eyes.

AMELIE- Is decribed as a peachy gold. It is a true peach with gold duo chrome to it. I love this color it reminds me of Nars orgasm blush, probably slightly more peach though. This color was extremely smooth and super pigmented. I honestly only needed one swatch to get full coverage but, of course I put two just to be even with the rest. When I first saw Melt post swatches of this eyeshadow it automatically reminded me of Kitten Parade from Sugarpill. So I put them side by side.

As you can see Kitten parade is more of a baby pink with peachy/gold duo chrome where as Amelie is a true peach wit gold duo chrome.

LOVE SICK- Is described as a ultra-matte burgundy-red. I see this color as a burgundy rust color it also has slight brown undertones to it. I was dying for this color but I have to say as soon as I felt the eyeshadow I thought to myself... Why does this feel so odd? Now i'm not sure if I'm the only person that got Love Sick with this weird texture but it just felt bumpy. Even when swatching it had that feeling and it made the eyeshadow apply patchy. It's still a gorgeous color that only took two swipes to build up but, that feeling throws me off. I'm hoping when I apply this to my eyes I don't run into the same problem. Again there will be an update on how this performed.

My final thoughts on this eyeshadow stack is I feel it does have some really gorgeous unique colors, and the looks you could create could honestly be endless and fun with the category of colors Melt has given but, I also feel those Matte colors need a little extra love when working with them.
overall I give this eyeshadow stack rating of: 8.5/10

The Dark Matter Eyeshadow Stack is the main stack I felt I needed desperately! I loved the color choices Melt did plus, the goth/grunge girl in me just screamed with joy seeing they were deep and matte eyeshadows.

BLURR - Doesn't have a color description on Melt's site just that it is an eraser shade. But to me this is a beige with slight peach undertones to it. Unlike the mattes in the Love sick stack the mattes in the Dark matter stack were much different. Blurr felt buttery smooth and applied effortlessly. It was nicely pigmented and not powdery what so over.

UNSEEN- Is described as a cool-medium caramel brown. I agree as soon as I swatched this I saw pure caramel. another color that felt extremely smooth without being powdery and applied super pigmented.

ENIGMA- Is described as a rusted red-brown. I agree as well, This color is much deeper then Love sick for those wondering. And just like Love sick this color had that weird feel to it but, as soon as I swatched it out on my skin it was gone and the color applied super smooth and very nicely pigmented. I adore this color!

DARK MATTER- is described as a pitch-black. I agree this color is super black and the most softest color out of all the new eyeshadows Melt has released. with one swipe this color was very pigmented and smooth. again I put two swatches of the color but this one really only needed one.

My overall thoughts are that the Dark Matter is a stack you MUST HAVE if you love colors like these. they are all Matte smooth and super pigmented without kicking up a ton of product I'm beyond happy to own this stack for sure!
My overall rating for this eyeshadow stack is: 10/10
If I had to reccomend one of the two I would say to get Dark Matter for sure!
