Writing a review for Colourpop Cosmetics has been a long time coming. This is one of the newest makeup brands that in my opinion will be taking a strong stand (even more than it already has) in the makeup industry. I am a huge fan of the products and literally have no complaints.
For a limited time Colourpop cosmetics has these beautiful holiday eyeshadow and lipstick sets out. Today I'm going to review the newest one they have released called "Barely Blitzed". With this review my main goal is to break down product discription and explain how to use the eyeshadows best. (besides the use your finger trick)

In the Barely Blitzed holiday set you recieve 4 limited edition eyeshadows (one being a duo) and 3 of their lipsticks all Matte formula.

Fleek/Effect - ( I labled these reversed on my photo so I will just switch them around in my review). Fleek is described as a blackened olive topped with soft gold glitter. I see this color more as a black with gold glitter I personally do not get much of that olive that is supposed to be in it but, nonetheless the color is a gorgeous black with gold glitter that sticks to the eyeshadow still even when blended out. It is also described as a satin but seems more of a matte finish (besides the glitter) when blended out. Effect is described as a Blackened teal. This eyeshadow for sure is a deep teal thankfully it isn't with a dramatic black undertone because it will take away from the beauty that Fleek has if you were to use all the colors in this set on your eyes. When blending effect out the color stays true it diffuses beautifully.

Solstice - Is described as a soft warm peach with multi dimensional glitter. I am in LOVE with this color it's a very very soft peach and it has the most gorgeous glitter running throughout the eyeshadow. I blended this color out as much as I could and the glitter was still there it didn't flake or fade what so ever. It's a perfect holiday color in my opinion because when I look at this eyeshadow it reminds me of Christmas and New Years. I feel like I would go for this color every day even though I tend do to more dramatic looks all the time.

To-A-T - Is described as a mid-tone warm brown. Although I don't personally own the Semi Sweet Chocolate bar palette from Too faced yet I can see this being a similar shade to peanut butter in that palette. I'm going to go back and compare this color with that one once I do get my hands on the Too Faced palette. To-A-T applies very smooth and pigmented. It blends out beautifully and the color does not turn muddy what so ever. I can see this eyeshadow being a great transition shade for a lot of people. For me being a very pale girl this color actually doesn't turn too warm on my complextion. So it's a friendly color for all skin types.

Now I am going to talk about the Lippiestix that come in this set all 3 colors are a Matte formula.

Deja - Is described as a soft peachy beige. This lipstick makes me love nudes again. I used to be all about nude lipsticks and for some reason I don't wear them as much anymore but, this one is very flattering it isn't overly beige so it doesn't make the lips look dead and the peach undertone give this lipstick a brightness so it also helps to brighten up the face more. If you're a fan of nudes this is a must have.

Clover - Is described as a mid tone true pink. Another color I don't tend to wear much but I see myself wearing this one a lot. It's bright and fun without being overly bright. It can tone down a smoky look to help the focus be on the eyes and, is very pigmented. These lipsticks from Colourpop literally take very little work to get fully opaque coverage on the lips.

Bambi - Is described as a smoky blackened plum. This is a gorgeous deep plum with hints of pink in the mix so it's not too vampy. another rare color I own I fell in love the second I put it on my lips. Out of all three lippiestix this is the one that I would say is the most fall/winter appropriate (if you go by those rules). I would apply this color and have Solstice on my lids with a dramatic winged liner and I think it would be gorgeous. Bambi is Another color that brightens the skin even though it is more deep.
A tip on how to apply these shadows: Besides just applying with my finger I found the brushes from Real techniques pick the product up and apply these eyeshadows effortlessly without picking up too much product.
My Overall thoughts:
Colourpop Cosmetics always amazes me with their products. You can tell they go above and beyond to create amazing quality products. And the price point of all of their products makes it wallet friendly for everyone being $5.00 for eyeshadows, Lipsticks and pencils. You can get $5.00 off of your first order when you sign up with your email on their website. I Highly recommend getting these limited edition holiday sets before they sell out or discountinue them.
Overall I give this Set a 10/10
