One of the black Friday deals I couldn't resist was LA Splash bringing back their limited edition matte lipsticks that were released during the summer I believe? I still remember the day they came out I tired my hardest to get to the website and failed miserably (lol). So the second I saw their post on instagram about re-releasing these gorgeous lippies for black Friday I jumped right on it.

I have arm swatches as well as lip swatches to share with you guys along with how the colors apply and how long they last on the lips. I will give my final thoughts and rating on these at the end of my review.

I'm going to start off this discussion with the packaging. I don't love it but, I don't hate it either it is strudy and I feel like if I were to accidently drop it they would be okay but, the grey lipstick is slightly at a tilt so I have the paranoia that eventually the lipstick will turn against me and just go off to the side completly. Also when applying the lipstick I feel as if I have to be more cautious about my application (not that i'm rough) I just feel if I push with too much pressure a disaster will happen lol.

Glazed Papaya - I see this color as a gorgeous bright orange with small gold shimmers in it. Now personally I don't see myself wearing this often because it seemed very clownish with my purple hair but, maybe I could make it work with an almost bare eye look some false lashes and not so dramatic liner. This Lipstick applied very pigmented I really didn't have to layer at all to get full coverage. I wouldn't call this finish a matte for the simple fact it has those gold shimmers in it matte lipsticks are flat colors.

Vanity - This color is a GORGEOUS intense violet. It has a pink undertone to it for sure I just love how much it pops on the lips and I can't wait to see this lippie shine paired up with more looks. Now the application of this lipstick was kind of weird it did apply pigmented taking up to two layers to get fully opaque coverage but, it had a slight gritty feeling when I was putting it on. As far as the finish on my lips that gritty application feel didn't tranfer so my lips did remian smooth. Vanity is a matte lipstick I love it even more being that.

(a little side note I am a matte lipstick junkie it's my go to over any other lipstick finish)

Greed - Is a gorgeous Cobalt Blue this is one of the colors I needed like no other in my life. Getting into application as much as I love this color it was a real pain to put on but, I have heard from others who have these type of blues that it is kind of a difficult formula to work with and it is a matte finish so it's understandable. After layering the color about three to four times it did give me a nice finish on the lips. Greed out of all the colors did feel the most dry to me but not in the terrible sense it was still okay feeling to me.

Envy - This color is a deep forest green. Another color I have been desperately wanting for a very long time now. It's so gorgeous I honestly don't know how much love I can express for this color. The application is also fantastic one layer could work for some people but I like my lipsticks intense so I put two. It's smooth not dry feeling what so ever and it doesn't bleed into the lines of the lips. Envy isn't a complete flat matte I have to add it does have a slight shine to it but definitely not a gloss finish.

Wrath - Is a Blue based grey. I'm going to be honest this is the lipstick that I wanted the most and it pushed me to do this order even more. It's perfection I tell you! The application is smooth and pigmented like envy this lipstick doesn't need many layers to have an opaque finish on the lips. I wore this color out today and it didn't budge even with drinking and, it was still fully opaque after 6 hours of wear time so i'm sure it would even last longer than that. Wrath is a matte finish as well but not like greed it has that slight sheen to it but on the lips it is a matte lipstick not gloss!

My Overall thoughts on these lipsticks are for the affordable price they are well worth it. They went beyond my expectations and each are absolutely gorgeous. If LA Splash releases these Lipsticks again I would recommend whoever loves lip colors like these to get to the website and order ASAP. And although I don't own Melt cosmetics lipsticks I personally feel these are a perfect alternative to those with a much better price point.

My final rating on these are 9.0
