Let me just start this blog post with saying I'm a Die hard Kat Von D fan. I have collected her makeup since her makeup line released with Sephora and, as a fellow tattooed girl I have loved her art and tattoo work since the Miami ink days. With all that being said I will always give honest reviews about all products I purchase from her makeup line because some products with my past experience do need some work compared to others but, I have to say this makeup line has come a very long way and with every release they just get more and more fanatstic.

The newest palette released from Kat Von Ds makeup line is called the Innerstellar eyeshadow palette. I have Swatches and product photos to share with you. I will also be giving my take on each color and what I think overall of the shades and palette as a whole.

By first glance the Innerstellar palette is all cool toned colors very fitting to the theme which is the moon. For those of you wondering if this is anywhere close to the two previous palettes (Monarch & Chrysalis) it isn't at all. Personally I think you are gaining an amazing amount of colors to add to your collection.

Kat von D has her newest palettes set up where you can use them as quads as well as mixing and matching the colors. I'm going to go over the eyeshadows as quads so you can see how they look paired together.

Lycan - Is described as a soft iridescent pink. That is an exact description to the color in my opinion but, unlike most White based iridescent pinks that I have used in the past this one has a lot more pink to it and a hint of purple. It's absolutely beautiful! The color applied very nice not overly pigmented but enough where as a brow highlight it would look stunning.

Killing Moon - Is described as a matte dusty beige. I see this color more of a taupe with a touch of grey to make it lean more cool. I love this as a transition shade. It's really the only matte color in the palette that would work as a transition color. Killing moon applied smooth and very nicely pigmented. It also blends out very smooth and effortlessly.

Moonshine - Is described as a silvery grey iridescence. I see this color as a grey with some blue added to it slightly and a GORGEOUS pink duo chrome to it. I don't own any colors like this one it's so amazing. The color in pan does not prepare you for how lovely it applies in a swatch. Moonshine was nicely pigmented and when blended out that slight duo chrome stays and the color does turn a tad more silver than grey but it is still very unique and gorgeous.

3AM - is decribed as a rich pearlized purple. I agree it is a gorgeous deep purple very cool toned with not only that silvery cast to it but hints of pink shimmer as well. I can never get enough of purple everything so this is another favorite of mine. 3AM applied nicely pigmented and blends out smooth. You will get more of that Silvery cast to it as you blend it out on the lid.

Vast - Is described as a pearlized taupe. I agree this color looks like killing moon was taken and made into a shimmer formula. it looks more cool toned than Killing moon though due to the fact that it has that white/silver cast to it. I don't see this color being a brow highlight for myself personally but, as a transition it would be very pretty. This eyeshadow does add something really pretty to an overall look. Vast applied very pigmented when blended out you see slight gold shimmer to it as well as the silver.

Orion - Is described as a pale lilac sheen. I agree it is a very pastel lilac it has that silver shimmer to it like vast. Having this color in the palette is a huge plus because me and these lilac/lavender colors lately have been a new obsession. Orion applied pigmented it doesn't skip what so ever and when blending this color out it stays a true lilac the silver shimmer doesn't take over like some lilac eyeshadows tend to have.

Darkstar - Is described as a purplish pewter. I can see why this color would be described as that but what I personally see is a gunmetal grey with purple undertones. Darkstar is a gorgeous complex color that honestly is growing on me more and more as I look at it. It applies pigmented and blends out nicely. Blending this eyeshadow out is the reason why I see this more as a gunmetal vs a pewter and the purple in the color fades a little so unless you layer it to gain the purple back this will just be more of a gunmetal color still very pretty though.

Astrological - Is described as a matte chocolate brown. I agree with the description when I first swatched this eyeshadow for some reason I thought of hot chocolate (lol). I really don't have much to say about this color because I feel like this is a common eyeshadow we see with companies and the neutral palette releases. It did apply very pigmented and blends out like a dream.

Gravitron - Is described as a matte cream. I see this color as more of a satin cream it reminds me of a wedding dress. Out of all of the eyeshadows in this palette this is the color that applied the least pigmented but in a good way! It looks very soft on the skin and would be absolutely beautiful as a brow highligt, inner corner highlight or even on the lid. I really do enjoy this color even blended out it looks very clean and fresh.

Lunacy - Is described as a metallic champagne. It is metallic maybe more of a deep champagne if that makes sense? This is another eyeshadow that I feel is a little common so I don't have much to say about it. It does apply super pigmented and blends out really gorgeous so it's a winner like the rest of the colors in the palette.

20141211_135528-1.jpg

Dios - is decribed as a metallic silver and, that's exactly what it is. Another common eyeshadow I see everywhere but, I have to add that being a collector of Kats makeup line and seeing this metallic silver as a common color in her palettes the formula has improved so much and is so much more smoother even the metallic shine is prettier than the past palettes so again I LOVE this color.

Night Crawler - is described as a matte black again that is the exact color it is. Another color that Kat likes to repeat in her palettes but, the formula improves more and more with each release. This black is very smooth, pigmented and it does NOT skip or apply chalky. I hardly look to buy black eyeshadows because between Kat von ds palettes and Sugarpills bulletproof I feel they can't be topped. For sure the best blacks on the market.

My overall thoughts on this palette are that I think it has a lot of unique colors. You can create an entire look with just this palette alone. All of the colors apply beautifully and the set up of each quad works nicely. The formula of these eyeshadows improves with each release as well so I Love it overall and highly recommend getting this. The Innerstellar palette is limited edition so I wouldn't sleep on this one guys.
