Today offically marks the day of me Starting my Makeup Blog. I found it appropriate to begin with a product that has been highly anticipated and very hyped up on social media. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Single eyeshadows have recently been released, and I must say I was very excited to see what uniqueness these colors would bring to my makeup collection.

I put in an Order for two Different Types of Palettes. One being a mix of Velvets and Ultra-Mattes. And the other being a mix of the Titanium and Duo chrome colors. At the moment I am only able to give my thoughts and swatches on the Titanium and duo chrome colors because my other palette has not arrived yet.

There is a total of 8 different finishes. I will be the first to admit I sat and just stared at my computer screen for a while adding colors and putting colors back, it seems kind of overwhelming when you first go on the site. But I did reference a lot to Norvina's Youtube channel and the swatches she did have available and recommended. It helped me a whole lot. For some reason the finish of titanuim just called out to me as something I Must have so I stuck with that. Duo Chrome was my runner up so just to test how the Duo Chrome eyeshadows are I bought two that Norvina recommended.

So let me start with Dragonfly this color is so gorgeous in person it has very fine glitter in it that for sure when applied with a specific brush the sparkle will stick. The description states that it has purple to it which is to make this color the Duo chrome but, as I look at it the color does not have as much purple as you would think. Maybe just a small tiny hint of purple is traced in this color, but for sure I would say it has a touch of green and a light touch of brown as well. It's a very stunning color for sure.

Next is Midnight this color is in the Titanium category but I honestly think of it more as a sparkle. The base of the color is a Matte Black it's supposed to have light blue sparkle in it. Now from my view the sparkle looks more silver than light blue, but then again it could just be my eyes. I'm looking forward to putting this color to the test to see how the sparkle stays with blending and buffing out.

Mermaid this is a color that I am constantly on the hunt for but my dreams constantly get crushed lol, that color is Deep Teal. Right away I compared mermaid to the deep teal in the Lorac Mega Pro palette. The differences right off the bat are deep teal in the Mega pro leans a lot more green and has a black base. Mermaid has a little something extra to it, it has a gorgeous shine and leans more blue. Mermaid would definitely add something extra to a look and work fantastic over a black base or layered over another shadow. I will say i'm very impressed with this shadow.

Metal This was another eyeshadow that I was extremely excited to try. It reminds me of New Years Just full of Sparkle and fun. With this eyeshadow you can see the silver gold that it's described as. Layering this color would be amazing or just wearing it on the lid for a smoky look with any deep color would be gorgeous as well. Because it has Both silver and gold in it, it runs both warm and cool. I think that's what I love most about this eyeshadow.

Electro - Is described as a bright purple with blue iridescence. (Duo Chrome)

Pink Champagne - Is described as a Pink Beige with Shimmer (Titanium)

Truffle Glitter - Is described as a brown with Burgundy shimmer. (Titanium)

IMG_20141125_185643.jpg

Rosette - Is described as a rich burgundy. (Titanium)

Below Are the Swatches of each of these colors and my thoughts.

Electro. I love colors like this and sadly I don't own enough of them. This color is very nostalgic for me and brings me back to being younger and seeing my mother with a color like this. I just wanted to put it on everything and I always got in trouble for digging in her makeup LOL. So it has that Bright 80's vibe to it. Electro is a light purple for sure but it does have a touch of pink, and the blue duo chrome just makes this color off the charts amazing. You can see so much depth to this one. I really do love it.

Pink Champagne Just like Metal is an awesome color. It looks rose gold on my finger when swatched but blending this color out you can see it is a true pink with Beige shimmer running through it. I don't own any color like this so I'm really glad I caved in and decided to pick this color up.

Truffle Glitter As much as I love this color there is no Burgundy Shimmer in this. It is a brown but it has a silver gold shimmer in it. Maybe I just got the color this way but I see no Burgundy LOL. Regardless of that it is still a very pretty color.

Rosette I kept going back and fourth on this color. It was more of a matter of will I wear this color a lot? But I caved of course as I always do and I got it (now i find myself buying a lot of colors in this family lol) Rosette is in the titanium category but to me it is a satin. The finish is nothing like the other titanium colors and it also felt smoother than the titanium colors. There is no sparkle to it just a plain satin finish. Honestly I feel like this would be a close dupe to one of the colors in Lime Crime's Venus palette, but I don't own it to compare just yet.

Overall: All of these colors applied smooth and Pigmented. None of them Skipped on me, of course layering them will make them more intense. My Downfall on these shadows is just that some of them do not match the description on the website, and I think some colors should be placed in different Categories.

On a 1-10 rating I give these an 9.5
